Several big events going on in the state this weekend in boys’ and girls’ basketball. And among the best will be the Pleasure Ridge Park Lady Panther Winter Classic.
The 16-team field features all in-state teams, including several ranked teams.
Paul Dunbar and Miss Basketball candidate Ebony Rowe and Franklin-Simpson – a top-five team statewide – are among the top teams in the upper bracket. Rowe signed with Middle Tennessee.
Defending state champion Iroquois, Fern Creek, Seneca, Holy Cross, Bryan Station and Caldwell County are the other teams in the upper portion of the bracket.
Lexington Christian and University of Kentucky signee Sara Beth Barnette (photo) and Franklin County are the top teams in the lower bracket. Those two are joined by PRP, Central, Eastern, Madison Central, Fleming County and Leslie County.
Play begins on Friday with the second round and semifinals on Saturday and the championship game slated for 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
