University of Kentucky signee Sarah Beth Barnette has been named Kentucky Miss Basketball by the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation.
The 6-foot-1 Barnette averaged 23.6 points and 8.7 rebounds as a senior and finished her career with 1,928 points and 1,076 rebounds.
She helped Lexington Christian to the 2007 state title and was named MVP of the quarterfinal game that season as a freshman.
On a side note, Barnette won Miss Basketball and Paul Dunbar’s Ebony Rowe was named 11th Region Player of the Year over Barnette. That should tell you how close the voting between several girls had to be this season.
