The University of Louisville women’s basketball team has the No. 1 prospect in the state of Kentucky, according to Rick Bolus and High Potential Basketball Recruiting Service, while the University of Kentucky has the players ranked No. 2 and 3.
Christian Academy senior Antonita Slaughter (right), who will sign with U of L, is ranked No. 1, followed by Nelson County’s Samantha Drake and Lexington Christian’s Sarah Barnette.
The No. 4 player in the rankings is Ebony Rowe, an uncommitted 6-foot senior from Paul Dunbar.
The top underclassman in the state, according to Bolus, is No. 5 April Wilson. She is a 5-foot-7 sophomore point guard from Manual High School.
Next in the rankings are: Franklin-Simpson junior Chastity Gooch, Rockcastle County junior Sara Hammond, Boone County sophomore Sydney Moss, Marion County freshman Makayla Epps, Owensboro Catholic freshman Becca Greenwell, Assumption forward Molly Ernst and Manual senior Zakiyah Martin.
The top sleeper in the state, according to Bolus, is Seneca senior Portia Durrett.
Among those in the second 12 include: Mercy senior Therese Montano, Fairdale senior Brittany Turner, Fern Creek junior Teonia McCune, Marion County freshman Kyvin Goodin-Rogers, Bullitt East senior Kayla Thacker, Highlands senior Katie Allen, Madisonville junior Kenyatta Drake, Eliabethtown junior Natalie Greenwell, Scott County senior Madison Webb, Breathitt County sophomore Kendall Noble, Bowling Green senior Erica Smith and Franklin County senior Chelsea Craig.
The second sleeper is Ballard junior Jaylan Bodiford.
